Youtube COPPA Algorithm

Youtube was fined a large sum of money for violating COPPA , for collecting information on their younger than 13 years, users. In this settlement they have enacted a new system that has creator labeling if their videos are made for kids or not. This isn't that bad, but an algorithm is determining if content was meant for children or not, without appeal to its decisions; an algorithm makes the final choice on the label on your video. Of course, the algorithm is failing in this because some creators do collector videos of trading cards or figurines and are not family friendly at all but because their topic falls under "Toys" they will be wrongfully flagged as kid content. The reason that being flagged as kid content isn't favorable is because monetization gets cut a ton, no targeted ads play on kid friendly videos, no comment section, and your video can not be seen in the "recommended" section. Youtube has another algorithm problem where if your videos are deemed not advertiser-friendly, they will be demonetized. So, now creators can't be too crude but also not squeaky clean where their content will be flagged as kid-content. The algorithms are not accurate in finding this subjective element of videos so many creators are being screwed over, as this system has no appeal function.
