Artist's Statement

I am creating block printing stamps, that I will use to create illustrations with ink. My pieces will focus on addiction and feeling stuck in the middle of that situation. The concept of Dante Alighieri's poem, "Divine Comedy", specifically the first part, the "Inferno" is not a heavy influence, but I am depicting each addiction as a form of a special torture, on the afflicted figures, similar in concept, to the circles of hell in the "Divine Comedy".
